National program for Lithuanian schools SOLIDWORKS EDU launched

With a major seminar for the teachers held at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University,  national program for Lithuanian schools SOLIDWORKS EDU has been launched.

3.500 free licenses of SOLIDWORKS EDU Edition 2018-2019 Multi-Site Network are available for teachers and pupils.

Vytautas Narvilas, technology teacher at Vilnius Jesuit High School with experience of using SOLIDWORKS at  his lessons since 2014, had this to say to his colleagues: „SOLIDWORKS Is just a part of human‘s life, because it is a real program, because it is a program you may encounter at school, you may encounter at a university, a program you may encounter later in your life, it may be part of your career. ”

“I see a lot of work to be done to get enough knowledge of SOLIDWORKS myself so that we can use it in our school. I think we are determined to do so, because the head teacher of our gymnasium is determined about innovations and we have already bought variety of equipment so that we can work with design, modeling and 3D printing,” says Tomas Jakubickis, mathematics and IT teacher from Riešė Gymnasium.

“I am of the opinion that SOLIDWORKS EDU must be integrated into lessons – both technology and information technology. Such lessons could certainly be introduced,” says Daiva Alaburdiene, IT teacher from the Gymnasium of the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences in Kaunas.
